St. Mark's Rector Search

We welcome your interest in our parish!  A brief overview is provided here with more detailed information regarding our search to be found through the links at the bottom of this section.

St. Mark’s Episcopal Church is an anchor on the west end of Main Street in the seaside village of Westhampton Beach, New York.  We are a welcoming place of faith and friendship, and are blessed with a beautiful church building in which to worship.Sunday morning worship is typically in the mainstream Episcopal tradition, with Holy Eucharist Rite II celebrated at both the 8 a.m. and 10 a.m. Sunday morning services.  Music is offered at the 10 a.m. service.  There is also a healing service mid-week, which has a faithful following.  We have also experimented with offering a service on Saturday evenings, as well as Christian Education on Sunday evening, in an effort to minister to those for whom attendance at a Sunday morning service is difficult.  We are open to new ideas in the area of worship.

St. Mark’s congregation includes a faithful core of active, long-term parishioners, who come from the surrounding communities as well as some “snowbirds” and part-time New York City residents. It is a well-educated group, which makes for thought-provoking conversation and study.  A Bible Study attendee says “I thoroughly enjoyed our recent study of Women in the Bible since most of us haven’t thought about that aspect of our faith.”

Our pre-school, St. Mark’s Bright Beginnings, has a robust program with an experienced staff that is highly regarded.  The school occupies the lower level of our building, as well as a portion of a separate building on our grounds where the rest of the space is rented to an independent counseling service.

The members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church thank you for your interest and consideration of the information found in this profile of our church.  Interested candidates are welcome to contact us at ........... and we will gladly follow up with you.
